ANEK was originally created with the help of shareholders who were the inhabitants of Crete and who aimed to have their own transportation to the rest of Greece. This is the difference between Anek Lines and all other shipping companies: its multi shareholder Cretan people who wanted their own vessels to sail into their own sea. What seemed to be only a vision has finally become possible thanks to everyone's partecipation and effort.
